MyCampus Survey

Where do you spend your time on campus? How do you get around? Where do you eat? See any unsafe areas that you want improved? We want to know. Tell us how and where you spend your time at Rutgers, and you’ll help guide decisions on the future shape of our university.

Students, faculty, and staff may use the interactive mapping tool survey and answer the questions by placing icons on the map. It’s easy, fun, and only takes a few minutes to help inform plans for future campus design and improvements.

 

How does it work?

The MyCampus survey has two parts: an interactive mapping section, and a text-based survey. The entire survey is designed to take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete, and if you can’t finish it, you can save it and come back later. 

In the mapping section, you will be asked to mark up a map of your campus with icons to tell our team where you go on campus and how you get there. After you complete the mapping section, the text-based survey will ask you a series of questions about your campus, as well as demographic information (e.g., your campus, department, affiliation). Your answers from the text-based survey allow us to filter the results so the master plan team can look at patterns of specific groups within the community (i.e., faculty, first-year students, etc.).

How will my data be used?

Your responses to the MyCampus survey are confidential. Although you will be asked to sign in with your NetID before filling out the survey, your individual responses will remain anonymous. By asking you to log in, Rutgers will be able to link the MyCampus database with other campus databases in the future, to find new strategies for improving the campus experience. Even if used in future analyses, Rutgers will maintain your privacy—your data and responses will remain anonymous.
